Brainstorm #1

For this project, I'm thinking of finding silhouettes of people and blurring them, and erasing the eyes to create my character. I want to put them into different house settings and maybe have one photo where you can see them from the outside in a window. I want most of the images to be black and white, with the only source of color coming from candles or other similar sources. I'm thinking of mainly including yellows and oranges but primarily trying to stick to the color red. I also want to add old family photos in the background of some of the images, maybe even having one broken while my character walks away.

The largest pieces of inspiration come from The Beast from The Magicians and one of the ghosts from Bly Manor. The ghost from Bly Manor has these glowing eyes but a bit more of a definitive shape, where I want to have a black blurry shadow. That being said, I love the stark contrast between the glowing eyes and the dark silhouette because it evokes a sense of wistfulness in my character. I also like the idea of incorporating moths within my work inspired by the beast because they are associated with death, endings, and the mystery of the night. I'm thinking of adding crows, mirrors with no reflections, and letters that are colored to show that my character has an emotional attachment to them. Some other things that may appear are rain, lightning, or other characters who live in the house to show the setting better.
